Terminology
Leveraging Qlik Catalog's powerful cataloging capabilities allows you to gain insights into your data assets and take appropriate action. You can select any Replicate task in Enterprise Manager and catalog all of the target table metadata.
Replicate users may find some of the Qlik Catalog terminology a little confusing at first; for instance, the Replicate target endpoint is referred to as the Source Connection in Qlik Catalog. To lessen the potential for confusion, some of the cataloging terms used in Enterprise Manager differ from those used in Qlik Catalog. While this may seem counter-intuitive at first, it is hoped that using terms that are appropriate within the specific context of each application will actually create a far more intuitive user experience.
Before getting started then, it's important to understand how the cataloging and replication terminology used in Enterprise Manager is reflected in Qlik Catalog.
